Support our mission - bring world-class judo to WA with your donation 🙏❤️

Dear friends,
Today is Giving Tuesday — the one day a year when many employers double your donation. It’s the perfect time to support Washington Judo Academy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered entirely by volunteers.
Because of your generosity last year, we accomplished something huge: we secured a new, bigger home for our judo community. Thank you 🙏
Now we need your help again. Our next step is equipping and building out the new space so we can keep bringing world-class judo to the Pacific Northwest.
If you’re able, please visit 🔗 www.wajudo.com/donate and make a contribution today - every dollar truly counts.
Thank you for being part of the Washington Judo Academy community - we truly could not do this without you ❤️
Judo isn’t just for kids.
It’s for anyone who wants to grow, get stronger, and push their limits.
Many adults think it’s too late to start—but that’s not true.
Every time you step on the tatami, you learn discipline, confidence, and the power of never giving up.
If life has been busy, stressful, or you feel like you need a change,
Judo can give you balance, strength, and a new sense of purpose.
It doesn’t matter where you start.
What matters is that you take the first step.
Your journey begins now. 🥋🔥
Mon/Wed 7:30–9:00 — Join us. Let’s grow stronger together.

“Build a platform—prepare for the unexpected… you’ll know you’re successful when the platform you’ve built serves you in unexpected ways.” — Pierre Omidyar
Now take that same energy to your 4-minute plank workout.
Because your body is your platform. Your core is your foundation. And every second you hold that plank, you’re building something that will serve you in powerful, unexpected ways.
🔥 4-MINUTE PLANK CHALLENGE❗️Work it! Work it!

On September 28, our team went to watch the Mariners vs. Dodgers game, the final game of the season. Unfortunately, the Mariners lost, but it was an amazing day because we got to see Kershaw’s last pitching performance and a home run by Shohei Ohtani. And our very own Cal Raleigh (Mariners) won first place in the home run rankings. We were really inspired by seeing athletes from another sport, and we want to do our best at the Rainer Cup on October 5.

Congrats to the 2024 President’s Volunteer Service Award recipients, a prestigious national honor recognizing outstanding community service. At Washington Judo Academy, we foster leadership by encouraging students to give back through assisting in classes, embodying the spirit of Jita Kyoei (自他共栄) - mutual welfare and benefit - one of two judo’s core principles emphasizing respect and the pursuit of the common good within the community.
